Theoretical Approach
As a licensed psychoanalyst, my theoretical framework is inevitably the psychoanalytic theory.
This means that while working with me, you will benefit from an approach concerned with helping you grow the authentic parts of yourself rather than teaching you who you should or should not be or setting the goal of making you adapt yourself to what could be said as the norm.
Along our journey, we will discuss both your past and your present, how you relate to others and yourself. With this, you will become aware of all the internal and external factors that impact your personality’s development, becoming able to think freely and with a sense of ownership of who you are.
First Session
We will begin with a 90-minute conversation, during which we will reflect on your concerns and whether you can relate to me and my approach to your concerns.
If we determine that it makes sense for us to meet, then we will discuss scheduling and frequency of sessions. Otherwise, I can provide you with additional referrals if needed.
The psychoanalytic process begins with a frequency of at least one session per week, mainly due to the need for time to explore your inner world deeply. However, depending on the nature and severity of your symptoms, certain aspects of your lifestyle, and how quickly we can make progress, the frequency of the sessions may be adjusted.
Therapeutic Process
There is no rigid script to the sessions. Instead, what is on your mind on the day of the session will be the starting point for every meeting. From there, I will help you explore the underlying ideas of your thoughts, and with that, you will grow your subjective experience.
Ending Therapy
With time, eventually, we will both get to a point where my collaboration is no longer required for you to keep in touch with yourself and to keep growing without me by your side. When that happens, we will discuss when and how this journey shall come to terms, where you will eventually have your last session.
From here, your psycho-analysis will keep operating, just without me!

Studies showing the effectiveness of psychoanalysis are recurrent. Below I share an excerpt from an article by the British Psychoanalytic Council that refers to this matter.
